Audi has confirmed it will field an unchanged eight-man driver line-up for the 2016 DTM series as it looks to regain the title it lost to BMW this season.

The Ingolstadt marque finished seven points shy of BMW in the manufacturers' standings in 2015, with Jamie Green, Mattias Ekstrom and Edoardo Mortara ending the year as its top drivers overall in second, third and fourth.

For 2016, Audi will retain an identical line-up, with the aforementioned drivers joined by Mike Rockenfeller, Timo Scheider, Miguel Molina, Adrien Tambay and Nico Muller.

Within this, Tambay will switch teams by joining Green at Team Rosberg, while Muller switches to the four-strong Team Abt concern.

Audi would have won the manufacturers' championship had it not had its points from the second Red Bull Ring race annulled. The marque was punished after Scheider was 'instructed' over the team radio to push the Mercedes' of Robert Wickens on the final lap, with the ensuing contact between the two drivers resulting in the latter impacting eventual champion Pascal Wehrlein and spinning out of the race.
