Abt Sportsline's Mattias Ekstrom has maintained Audi's stranglehold over the DTM season opening Hockenheim weekend by going quickest in the final free practice session.

Ekstrom finished where he qualified in ninth position during yesterday's first race but the Swede rose to the top of the timesheets after setting a 1 minute 33.833 second lap.

The double champion's effort sent his Abt run RS 5 0.141's clear of his Team Phoenix counterpart of Mike Rockenfeller in second.
