Red Bull Ring: Wittmann beats Blomqvist to Spielberg pole

Marco Wittmann leads an all-BMW front row ahead of Tom Blomqvist for the first DTM race of the weekend from the Red Bull Ring.
Former champion Marco Wittmann will start the first DTM Red Bull Ring race of the weekend from pole position as BMW enjoyed a strong qualifying session.

The Team RMG driver, champion in 2014, set his best lap around the Austrian circuit on his second run, the German doing enough to deny BMW counterpart Tom Blomqvist his first pole position.

Adrien Tambay and Edoardo Mortara formed an all-Audi second row, but the session largely belonged to BMW, with Timo Glock, Maxime Martin and Antonio Felix da Costa filling positions five, six and seven.

Paul di Resta flew the flag as the best Mercedes driver in eighth, with DTM veterans Martin Tomczyk and Mattias Ekstrom completing the top ten.
