Zandvoort: Rast steps in for injured Tambay

WEC star Rene Rast will step into the injured Adrien Tambay's Audi RS 5 after receiving a late call-up to replace the Frenchman at Zandvoort.
Audi's Rene Rast will make a surprise DTM debut today after receiving a last minute call-up to replace the injured Adrien Tambay at Zandvoort.

Tambay injured his left hand during yesterday's first race after suffering contact with the Mercedes of Maximilian Gotz at the start-line.

Having complained of some discomfort, the Team Rosberg driver was taken to hospital for X-rays and although it was confirmed no bones had been broken, Rast was announced as Tambay's replacement earlier this morning.

Rast will just have one 30 minute practice session, which is currently underway, to get to grips with the Audi RS 5.
