Haug: `Bernd is a cool fighter`.

Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Norbert Haug left the EuroSpeedway Lausitz with a Mercedes driver claiming a second win in as many races and third place on the podium.

"Congratulations to Bernd Schneider and the HWA team on this victory," said a happy Haug. "It was close, but Bernd was a cool fighter and had it under control. Both brands had a chance to win today, but with several cars on the same level of performance we were a bit better."

Haug shed some light of the battle between Mika Hakkinen and teammate Jamie Green, feeling the Leicestershire driver was a little forceful as he passed Hakkinen with six laps left in the race. Haug felt it just that Hakkinen was able to retake his podium place from Green with the finish line in sight.

"Jamie Green had a good speed from pole position, however he was a little bit too impetuous when he passed Mika," admitted Haug, "and this justified that both drivers changed positions again on the last lap as a compensation."
