Green heads HWA quartet in practice.

Jamie Green ended Friday's second free practice session ahead of the third round of the DTM Championship as the quickest driver ahead of HWA Mercedes team mate Bruno Spengler.

Green, who has claimed two pole positions so far this year and came home fourth in the last round at EuroSpeedway Lausitz, ended up only 0.064s ahead of his young Canadian team mate with Mika Hakkinen in third and championship leader Bernd Schneider fourth, making it a HWA top-four.

Jean Alesi proved the quickest of the '05 machinery taking fifth ahead of Stefan Mucke with Schneider's closest challenger so far this season, Tom Kristensen the highest placed Audi in seventh, followed by fellow Audi Team Abt racer Heinz-Harald Frentzen in eighth.

2004 champion Mattias Ekstrom ended up 13th after completing 34 laps of the tight and twisty Oschersleben circuit in the Audi Team Abt Sportsline A4, with team mate Martin Tomczyk 15th ahead of fastest man from Friday's first practice session Christian Abt in the Playboy adorned Audi.

Mathias Lauda led the 2004-spec cars, ending Friday's proceedings 17th overall in his Mercedes C-Klasse, ahead of Susie Stoddart's AutoScout24 AMG Mercedes in 18th and Vanina Ickx's Futurecom TME Audi A4 DTM.
