A familiar face will return to the DTM grid at Brands Hatch after the announcement that Jeroen Bleekemolen will be a late replacement for the struggling Olivier Tielemans in the Futurecom TME Audi.

Joining Vanina Ickx in the Colin Kolles run 2004-specification A4 to create an all Belgian line-up, Bleekemolen has been drafted in to take the place of the Tielemens, the Dutchman having failed to make much of an impression in the first three races of the year so far.

An Opel refugee with two years experience, Bleekemolen returns to the seat of a DTM car for the first time since 2004 and for the first time at the wheel of an Audi.

Bleekemolen, who has recently been carving out a career in sportscars at the wheel of the Spyker Squadron team, was delighted to be returning to the series.

"I am pleased much that I may return to the DTM," he said. "Since my parting from the DTM I have been looking for possibilities to return, because for me the DTM is the best and most beautiful running series at all."

With no running ahead in the car ahead of Friday practice and having not driven at Brands Hatch since 1999, he faces an uphill battle on his DTM return but will no doubt be determined to take the battle to fellow 2004-spec rivals Mathias Lauda and Susie Stoddart.
