Ekstrom wins as Kristensen, Green falter.

Mattias Ekstrom took victory at a sweltering Brands Hatch circuit in Kent for the fourth round of the DTM series after rivals Tom Kristensen and Jamie Green both lost the lead late in the race.

Kristensen had looked in perfect position to take victory from pole until apparent suspension failure put his Audi off the circuit at Clearways. The Dane reversed back on to the track and pitted, but he retired from the race with 17 left to be completed.

Jamie Green inherited the lead to home cheers but the Brit already seemed to be struggling with grip and a mistake at Graham Hill Bend meant he took to the grass and Ekstrom, on a far later pitstop strategy than his rivals, took the lead and then victory.

Kristensen's DNF means that third finishing Bernd Schneider now leads the championship by four points from the Dane.
