DTM gets off-road treatment in Spain.

Spanish rallying legend Carlos Sainz will be the star guest for Audi as the DTM gets in gear for its first-ever race in Barcelona this weekend.

The two-time World Rally Champion will drive a DTM race car around the Catalan circuit for the first time, chauffeuring VIP guests in the 460 hp Audi A4 race taxi on Saturday afternoon.

Volkswagen factory driver Sainz, with 26 WRC victories to his name, is one of the most successful rally drivers of all time. The 44-year old is also one of the most popular sportsmen in Spain and a huge star for many in his homeland.

'El Matador' has driven for Volkswagen in cross country rallying since June 2005, this year making his Dakar Rally debut at the wheel of a Volkswagen Race Touareg 2.

Audi DTM star Mattias Ekström will take time off from his regular duties to explain the Audi A4 controls to Sainz. The 2004 DTM champion has successfully competed in rallies and scored a world championship point for Skoda in August at the German WRC round.
