Ickx out of qualifying after high-speed smash.

Vanina Ickx has been forced to pull out of qualifying for the final round of the DTM at Hockenheim after destroying her car in free practice when she suffered a high speed crash.

Travelling at 160mph, Ickx's Futurecom Audi A4 snapped left under braking coming into the hairpin, slamming into the barriers head on and also spinning round into a side impact.

Although the Belgian walked away unharmed from the smash, Ickx's car is badly damaged and will not be repaired in time for qualifying, although hopes are high that she will be able to appear for the final race of the year.
