Formula 1 set to rock the DTM at Lausitz

1 January 1901

The next round on the 2007 DTM calendar – at the Eurospeedway Lausitz on 18-20 May – is to be fired into action by the sight and sound of a Formula 1 machine in all its glory.

The Eurospeedway Formula 1 premiere will take place on Sunday, 20 May shortly before the start of the race, when Red Bull Racing third driver Michael Ammermüller will take the squad's 2007 world championship contender, the RB3, out on-track to entertain the crowds with its roaring sound, demonstration laps and donuts. There will then be a battle between Ammermüller in the RB3 and Mattias Ekström's 2007-spec Audi A4 DTM.

The Formula 1 car will be displayed in the DTM paddock from Saturday, offering visitors the chance to take a close look at the latest state-of-the-art grand prix technology. To prepare the fans for Sunday's action, mechanics will fire the engine into life from time to time on the days leading up to the race. Ammermüller will also attend the official DTM autograph session at 4:45pm on Saturday.

What's more, the Puhdys – the most popular rock band of the former GDR – will take to the Radio Berlin 88.8 stage at 12:20pm on race day to give a live concert. The stage will subsequently act as the venue for competitions, interviews and autograph sessions.
