After securing his first finish in the DTM last time out at Oschersleben, Adam Carroll has his sights set on a place in the points this weekend as the series heads to Lausitz for the third round of the year.

Having been forced out in the high-speed accident on lap one of the season opener at Hockenheim, the Futurcom-TME driver bounced back to record a ninth place finish last time out at the wheel of his 2005 Audi A4 - putting the Northern Irish driver just one place away from a points finish.

Now, the 24-year-old former GP2 racer will aim to make that breakthrough in his third DTM start on a circuit where he does have some limited experience at the wheel of a DTM machine.

"I have actually driven before at the Euro Speedway in an Opel DTM car," he said. "In 2003 I did a few rounds of the Euro F3 and at end of it, Opel asked me to test. It was rained off after 5 laps though. But I have also driven the banking at Rockingham so it doesn't faze me at all. It is just another corner and the main thing is to get round it.

"My aim for this weekend's race is to get into the points; it has to be. I made the second qualifying sector although I was disappointed not to have been a bit higher up on the grid for Sunday's race, and then I got into the top ten in the race itself. Next target - points.

"There are a few things that I will be more prepared for this week, the heat in the car during the race really surprised me but I am ready for this weekend and looking forward to it."
