Carroll eyeing first points from 12th

1 January 1901

Adam Carroll is eyeing his first DTM points in the Futurecom TME Audi for the third round of the series at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, despite the emphasis seemingly being on Mercedes following qualifying.

Reaching the second stage of qualifying once again, Carroll out-paced three year-old A4's in his 2005 Audi on the way to 12th position on the grid and very almost embarrassed the works cars of Mattias Ekstrom, Timo Scheider and Martin Tomczyk too.

Having only just missed out on a maiden DTM point for both himself and the Futurecom TME team at the Oschersleben, Carroll is determined to make amends at Lausitz even if he will have to overcome the domination of Mercedes first.

“Again it was good to get through to the second round of qualifying and I am starting higher up than I have before but the car didn't work so well with the tyres which was quite a disadvantage in the end. I got the most out of the car that I could.

“Hopefully my race pace is good and my aim is to score my first DTM points. We always knew that Mercedes would be very dominant here and it was proved today,”
