di Resta determined to make a home impression.

Paul di Resta has set his sights on impressing his home fans as he travels to the British round of the DTM at Brands Hatch as the surprise leader of the championship.

The reigning Formula 3 Euroseries Champion has shaken the established order in the DTM this year by scoring two podiums in his 2005-specification Persson-run Mercedes C-Class, results that have seen him establish a four point lead in the standings.

It is a position di Resta admits he did not expect to be in, but now he has the advantage, he is eager to maintain it at Brands Hatch. Furthermore, having claimed a victory there last season whilst racing in the Euroseries, he is setting his sights high this weekend.

“If somebody had told me prior to the season that I would travel to my home race in Brands Hatch as the championship leader, it would have been hard for me to believe him. It's like a dream to have accomplished that and I will give it my all to retain the lead in front of my home crowd.”
