Timo Scheider is keeping an eye on claiming his first ever DTM victory after securing a spot on the front row for the final race of the season at Hockenheim.
Team orders permitting, Scheider starts alongside Tom Kristensen in Germany and will be challenging for victory so long as it still results in the title going the way of either Mattias Ekstrom and Martin Tomczyk.
Another strong qualifying performance that has seen him qualify inside the top five in five of the last six races, Scheider is hoping that alone will be enough to persuade Audi to give him a second season in the works team.
“All in all, this is a great qualifying result for us. Between the second and the third heat, we made some changes to the car. That was the right decision. Being that far up front and seeing that my performance in qualifying has been consistent for four races is great. It is nice for Tom that he is on pole.”
