Record crowd for finale

The DTM is set for a bumper crowd in the 2008 season finale at Hockenheim after the circuit confirmed it has sold record levels of tickets for the event.

Over 71,000 tickets have been sold for the final race, where Timo Scheider will aim to secure the title ahead of Mercedes ace Paul di Resta.

Audi man Scheider holds a two point lead going into the weekend, but di Resta arrives as the series' form man – with four straight podium finishes heading to the final round of the campaign.

"This year, we will reach a new record crowd at the Hockenheimring," Hans Werner Aufrecht, chairman of DTM promoters ITR e.V. said. "We are happy with everyone who wants to enjoy this great finale together with us. We will not reject anyone."
