Paffett wins finale, Scheider defends title

Gary Paffett takes his fourth win of the season โ€“ but second place is enough to give Timo Scheider the DTM drivers' title again.
Britain's Gary Paffett won the tenth and final round of the 2009 DTM at Hockenheim today, but it wasn't enough to stop Timo Scheider from securing the drivers' title for the second year in a row.

Paffett, who eventually ended the race just 1.043 seconds up on Scheider, finishes the season with 59 points, 5 less than his rival.

Paul di Resta meanwhile took the final spot on the podium, ahead of Alexandre Premat, who was the best-placed driver in a year old car.

Jamie Green and Oliver Jarvis came in fifth and sixth respectively, with Bruno Spengler and Markus Winkelhock rounding out the points' scorers.
