Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner believes that David Coulthard and Jenson Button are set to make 2006 an exciting year for the British public as the duo battle for success in the new F1 season.
With the might of Honda now firmly behind him, Button will be looking to return to his 2004 form following a disappointing season in 2005, while Coulthard and RBR will have Ferrari engines and will also start to benefit from the signing of technical wizard Adrian Newey from McLaren.
With that added strength, Horner said he was aiming to see Red Bull break into the top-five in the teams second season in F1 – adding that Coulthard will have the car to challenge consistently in the 2006.
"The battle between Jenson and David is going to be great for the British public," Horner told Britain's
News of the World newspaper. "The statistics say David is the better driver. Jenson has not won a race while David has won 13 and been on the podium 60 times in his career. He is the complete driver.
"Jenson is at a different stage of his career and I am sure he will go on to achieve great things. When he wins one I'm sure he will then go on to win several more. We will give David a car to compete on a regular basis with Jenson next season.
"We finished seventh in the constructors' this year but were just four points behind BAR and pushed them all the way - now our aim is a top-five finish."
