BMW investigation to gift Hamilton title?

Lewis Hamilton could still become the 2007 Formula 1 Drivers' title after it was revealed that BMW are reportedly being investigated for fuel irregularities at the end of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Although no word has been given by the governing body, BBC News claimed in their 10 'o' Clock bulletin that the FIA are investigating both BMWs and both Williams', which finished fifth and sixth, for irregularities with their fuel.

A spokesperson claimed the FIA had concerns of the 'fuel temperatures', with an insider claiming it was 'too cold'.

Should Nico Rosberg, Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica be penalised in any way, as well as Kazuki Nakajima, Hamilton would be classified in fourth place and would therefore be crowned the champion.

Cooler fuel is denser and can therefore it can take less time to get into the car during the pit-stops. Furthermore, there is also a small power advantage.

However, until an official word is made, Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari remain this year's champion.

I just hope the FIA fines and takes away the CONSTRUCTORS points like they did to Benetton & Williams in 1995, not the DRIVERS points. Kimi deserves this one, and if Hamilton gets it, then there's gonna be a severe backlash for F1.
