Massa pipped as Raikkonen run looks to end

“Overall, it's a reasonably satisfying result,” affirmed Domenicali. “Of course, we always hope to be ahead of everyone, but it's not always possible, especially as we are up against some very strong opposition, which we always knew was the case. When evaluating this session, we also have to take into consideration that the difference in fuel loads has a greater effect here than at other tracks.

“Tomorrow, apart from the usual factors – strategy, the work of the team and drivers, tyre performance over a distance – the weather could play a key role. As always, we will be doing our utmost to bring home the best possible result.”

“My compliments to Felipe, who did a fantastic lap on his second run in Q3,” added Baldisserri. “It's a shame that a mistake in turn seven probably cost Kimi at least one grid position. We knew our main rivals would be very strong, especially in qualifying, but we are still convinced that we can be on the pace tomorrow in the race, which is when the points are given out.

“It will be a tough race, in which it will be vital to manage any situations that might arise as well as possible. If it is run in the dry, it will be important to monitor how the tyres perform over a long distance, given that neither yesterday nor today was it possible to do a lot of laps consecutively. The F2008 worked well, and also the performance of the tyres over the first timed lap was up to our expectations.”

If Ferrari are going to win they had better pray for NO RAIN. Massa hasn't looked impressive in the wet once this year. Also add to this the way the Ferrari engine has been running of late, it's looking like Lewis has the edge. I can't stand Lewis he just seems so smug.. But he is the complete packet when placed in that Merc.

I bet Kimi wishes he was still in it ATM...

Located on the north-east side of Abu Dhabi’s mainland, Yas Island is 2,500 hectares or 25 square kilometres. Prior to 2007, Yas Island had no amenities or facilities – including roads, electricity or water supply. Conveniently located, Yas Island is 20 minutes from the centre of Abu Dhabi, ten minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 50 minutes from Dubai [pic credit: Yas Marina Circuit]

By May 2008, work on the main grandstand is underway. More than 6,000 spectators are entertained in the main grandstand opposite the pit building and garages. For many fans, this is the heart of the action, where the team pit garages and pit-stops take place, the location of the start/finish line as well as the victory podium [pic credit: Yas Marina Circuit]
By November 2008, substantial progress continues on the main grandstand, pit buildings and the Yas Hotel, with Yas Marina clearly defined. The pit buildings contain 40 independent garages, each 140 square metres, fully air-conditioned with an air-wall at exit onto pit-lane. The pit building houses the team’s two race cars, all spare parts, engineering equipment and the computer data storage and analysis equipment. Between 75 and 100 people will work in each respective team’s garage [pic credit: Yas Marina Circuit]
