Despite the inevitably dispiriting outcome to a race that had promised so much more, the Scuderia's team principal Stefano Domenicali and technical director Luca Baldisserri were both full of praise for their driver's performance – perhaps sensing that the 'real' Raikkonen has returned to the building once more.

“We are very disappointed for Kimi, who had driven a great race and deserved the win, especially at this rather difficult time,” stated Domenicali

“This was a very intense weekend,” added Baldisserri. “Kimi drove a very nice race, and it's a real shame it wasn't crowned with a deserved win after he attacked all race long.”
