While he continues to be embroiled in a frenetic, and at times controversial, battle for the 2008 Formula One title, McLaren ace Lewis Hamilton could at least be set for a calmer life away from the race track if his celebrity partner Nicole Scherzinger gets her way.

Hamilton, who is hoping to see the FIA overturn the penalty imposed on him in the Belgian Grand Prix to extend his lead in the points standings, has been dating Scherzinger – a member of the leading band The Pussycat Dolls – for a number of months.

Speaking at the Vodafone Live Music awards, where Hamilton was also present thanks to the 'phone giants title sponsorship deal with the McLaren team, Scherzinger revealed that she would be happy to settle down with the Briton, who has been linked to a number of beauties since bursting onto the F1 scene.

"Lewis is such a wonderful guy," she told the Sunday People. "I definitely think he could be 'The One'. He's so kind and generous, we just get on so well. Everything is going very well."
