Fisichella unconcerned over '09

Giancarlo Fisichella has stated that he believes his Formula One future with the Force India team is secure and says he isn't anxious about rumours he could be replaced.

Despite team boss Vijay Mallya having previously stated that both Fisichella and Adrian Sutil would return next year, the announcement of a new partnership with McLaren Mercedes has led to speculation that McLaren – or indeed Mercedes – would have some input into the Force India line-up.

That speculation increased when McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa appeared on track for Force India during this week's F1 group test in Barcelona while Mercedes DTM driver Paul di Resta has long been linked with a possible move into F1 with the Silverstone based squad.

However, Fisichella insisted he wasn't concerned by the speculation, with a contract having already been signed for him to remain in Force India colours for a second season.

"I am not anxious," he was quoted by Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport 'paper. "I do not think that there will be problems for me.

"I have a signed contract and Vijay Mallya announced that the drivers for 2009 will be Adrian Sutil and myself."
