Mario Theissen has joined Max Mosley in criticising Formula 1 team colleagues who have spoken out against the decision to employ the Kinetic Energy Recovery System for 2009.

A number of teams have expressed concern that they will be unable to get the complicated KERS system ready in time, while others have questioned its relevance in the use of road cars.

Ferrari's Luca di Montezemelo has been a particularly vocal critic of the new regulations, but BMW Sauber F1 team manager Theissen has hit back, criticising them for not wanting to look at the 'bigger picture'.

"That argument not only speaks of a lack of competitiveness but also a reluctance to play a role in the bigger picture," Theissen told the German Spiegel magazine.

It has recently been made apparent that BMW were the team that vetoed a decision to delay the use of KERS, despite making headlines earlier this year when an early version of the system electrocuted a member of the team when the car came into the pit lane.
