I can't think of any other sport where the participants pay to compete, (even to the extent of paying for each word in their team name), where the venues pay to host the event and hand over the lions share of the takings, where the TV companies world-wide pay to cover the sport, and all this money goes to one gut who seems to think he "owns" the sport. In all other sports, the revenues from TV etc get ploughed back into the sport. Is the sport any better today than it was in the days when people like Chapman used to build the Lotus and Jim Clark won three Grand Prix on the same set of tyres? I'd really like to see the teams go off and run their own series and tell BE to stuff it.

Yeah, right. Everyone, except BE, is suffering, while his demands remain unchanged.

How can he know what suffering is like, in his ivory tower.

Bernie either get a new pair of specs or open your eyes
You & your companies have been bleeding F1 dry for years
& now you want everyone but you and your companies to save the sport you have been killing

Has no one pointed out to Bernie that he can't take all this cash with him?

Point 2
His Reputation isn't going anywhere in a hurry either, so Bernie has some time to correct the World's opinion of him, LEECH or Elder statesman of F1..

are ticket prices set by the promoting circuit not reflected by what this horrible little man dictates that they have to pay him for the pleasure of lineing his own greedy pockets

With Honda racing leaving F1 and ing/renault already looking in trouble is bernie not going to admit that his charges/expectancy from the media and GP venues is inappropriate in the present economic climate, what can i say a 78 year old wrinkly and never been loved before except for your money.

MR Ecklestone has not offered to reduce his $10000000
take out of each F1 venue and continues to take races to the other side of the world at great expense and huge carbon footprints.

Lets be fair guys, BE runs FOM on behalf of the majority shareholder, CVC. CVC bought its bit from Bernie (who gave the consequent billions to his wife, oops) with money they borrowed and which has to be paid back.

So Bernie has to charge a huge amount so his bosses can pay for the wedge they've already given him, which his wife has hidden from the taxman (and Bernie too, it seems). So rather than BE being greedy now and causing the high cost, it was actually becuase he was greed THEN. Now, he's just desperate because his wife has all the money and he's forced to sleep on Flavs couch. :)
