So the FIA wants $78,000 per race from the drivers/teams. I guess that's the cost of flying Max's cronies in and treating them as VIP stewards for the day. And of course, the FIA daren't ask Bernie for the money because his sole mission in life is to drain funds out of a sport and into his own bank account. Walk away drivers and lets see what the FIA does come Australia when they only have two Ferraris on the grid. (I'm assuming they'll think of some reason why the rule doesn't apply to Ferrari drivers).

Can I issue Super Licences then as it seems to me an excellent earner to me - 1.5 million Euro's for a season!
A nice source of revenue for the FIA.
Well, the F1 drivers now know what it is like for use common motorists being screwed by the Authorities!

ahh, i pity them so much, they earn all this money and get to do what all us reading this would love to do, plus they get paid so much money that interest alone would cover the cost of a licence, maybe ill go to my local motor tax office and demand i was never consulted about the yearly increase i pay, what a strange little world formula 1 is, and the drivers say the fans shud come 1st,this 'sport' is a joke these days.

More BS from MM.

If the FIA wants transparency in pay, F1 should be completely 100% transparent, particularly since so many government are subsidizing these greedy *******s.

If the FIA is so worked up about how much a person- that, lest we forget- risks their life each and every time they go out on the track to earn Bernie and the FIA money- maybe they oughta look at mandated development changes instead.

I can't imagine Jenson Button costs more than, say, KERS, unending aero changes, the stupidity of a back-and-forth calendar, etc etc.

Standard-issue hypocrisy. No shock MM's a lawyer.

It's not about how much the drivers earn, imho the GPDA are correct - drivers' earnings are private none of the FIA's business.

The superlicence fees (particularly the percentage increase since 2007) that the FIA are asking for are ridiculous.

I hope that all of the drivers will stand united and firm on this, and refuse to pay nothing more than the 2007 fees, adjusted upwards for inflation.

So the GPDA is now to pay for Bernies greed, and MAx's inability to run a business. Stand firm boys, but , don't forget Ferria will be given a pass to race wether they pay or not.

Finally we are seeing the corruption of Greed set into F1

It's time to go Bernie,
It's time to go max

The drivers made an unwise move and not a very smart one given the financial situation and the vast salaries they are being paid, if they cannot prove their hardship which clearly they cannot they should simply be quiet and pay the bill.

It has been reported that some drivers said that it will be fairer if the super license fee was based on earnings the FIA said it will look into the matter if they can provide details of their income but they said these things are privet!!!.

yet more self centered sportsmen totally out of touch with their working class fans. Its unbelievable that they are so short sighted that they are airing in public their 'disgust'at the licence increase when in the real world we are struggling with increased food, fuel and heating costs as well as spiralling unemploymet.Yet more so called sportsmen alienating themselves from joe public
