If you took a Ford Escort and changed the engine and chassis would it cease to be an Escort? I think this is the first incarnation of a formula 1 kit car.
As the report says, whilst they have kept dimensions and geometries the same the chassis is different to accommodate the engine and gearbox, some of the bodywork has had to change for this reason as well. I find it encouraging that STR are building a lot of their stuff in house, this has to make it a more attractive proposition to any potential buyer.

It is very obvious that the STR car has a different sysytem than RBR. But they seem to just run a chasis which is almost identical to their sister team. I'm very sure that If Vettel drove the STR he'd break his best lap-time on the RBR.
But Torro Rosso now don't have him so maybe Buemi can try kick some ass.

Joe, the chassis are the same as they both come from Red Bull Technologies, built to the same dimensions. They are then prepared by the relevant team to fit the relavent engine, so that's what makes the cars different.

'for the first time ever, we have now made the actual chassis in-house' - Granted the 'length, wheelbase, weight distribution, its basic metric characteristics' have come from Red Bull Technology but it is then down to RBR and STR to assimilate the information and produce a chassis.

According to STR the chassis tub is now produced in-house,that's in preparation for next year when they will not be able to use RBR chassis, so the only thing they still need is their own designer, this is because if one produce a chassis in-house to somebody's else design it's still not his chassis

In that case, Why is is that Force India and Mclaren cars look different. I mean that Force India also uses almost the same systems and gearbox and engine. so then why didn't they just construct a car like mclaren. Infact, BragwnGP's car looks like the McLaren expcept for the front wing and the bend on the nose-cone. BGP001 also has the same air intake on the sidepods like Mclaren but Fi has a different one. Is that a disadvantage for Fi? :?
