Yes, well said Felipe.

I'm very far from being a Ferrari fan, but since this mans grace in defeat last year, and coupled with level-headed comments like this, his stature has greatly increased in my eyes.
I think I'm getting to like him now.

Does anyone remember the last point change when we went from 10-6-4-3-2-1 to 10-8-6.. ?

The reason this was changed was that Shumi was winning everything, and the wanted to level the playing field a bit. So if they really want to put more emphasis on the winner, easy, just go back to the old 10-6-4 system.

Not sure how this would have changed the championship last year though, but changing the difference between first and second place from 2 to 4 points should make for some more hard racing.. :)

Yes Martin, but that would be doing things the easy and straightforward way. But the FIA and Bernie are drama queens and do NOT do easy and straightforward...

Not 1 disagree, Blimey!
Massa just gets more and more likeable with every passing day. His words are spoken with thought and sincerity. If only the fools who suggest and implement these new, attention grabbing rules had the same brain capacity, maybe they would think a little harder about the consequences of their decisions before applying them and then having to do a U-turn. They make F1 look like a circus full of clowns. Please lets have some common sense people running this show, instead of the egotistical fools who make our sport so unstable.

I'm sur there would be many complaints if they went back to the 10-6 system as only the top 6 finishers would get points, leaving many lower teams with less or no points.

Just give the winner 12 points. There would be many consequences of the winner take all that Bernie et al aren't smart enough to figure, and they'd just ruin a season.

With engines expected to last longer, if you're in second, and have no way of passing the guy in front, wouldn't you just park it and save your engine for the next race? How likely would it be to have races with 8 cars finishing?

Since drivers pay by the point for the superlicense I am surprised Bernie and Max haven't made it so that the top 10 all score with first getting 20 points.

For 2010 the cost of the superlicense is being dropped, changing the amount of points to the top 10 would then even out that cost.

Heavens... I might have just given Bernie a new idea.

Considering that it appears it is going to take Mcl a few races to get up to speed the old system will favor Massa over Lewis this year. Had the winner takes all season gone into effect LH only had to start winning in the second half of the season.

Dario.. Parking the car will not work. Others tried that approach and it failed. They are on to that one. Go with the medal system but give the teams TWO pit boxes. If you want a proper champion then there should be TWO pit boxes. F1 is not designed for fair racing from the word go. Team orders have played a part of EVERY championship.
