Here we go again. Lewis said in an interview straight after " i was told to let him past, don't know if that is the rule" how can that possibly be misleading! if anything the stewards made a rash decision in penalising Trulli and have had to save face by blaming McLaren.

If they lied to the stewards, serves them right.

We can't condone LIARS in F1. This is a fair punishment.

and it starts again.
why not just switch hamiltons and trullis finishing positions.
If hamilton had stayed in 3rd they would have nailed him for overtaking anyway so he is screwed either way

The FIA caused the problem by not having clear rules, the regulations only state a car may pass- if any car slows with an obvious problem. is running wide on a corner slowing with an obvious problem no wonder Mclaren were confused as to wether they needed to let him retake th position as no one in the pits actually saw how much trulli went off track
I think this is just another case of ambiguous FIA rules

I would like to know if all teams have to hand over recordings of their transmission between the driver and the pits, or if they will be used selectively by the FIA to affect results when they want to.

To all those who can't condone liars, I would generally agree with you, but given the recent history of the FIA who are we to know who lies and who doesn't. We only see what they decide to publicise. Transparency doesn't exist.

I wonder if someone can help me here, because I'm really struggling to understand this, as far as I can see, entering the final safety car period, Trulli was third and Hamilton was fourth. As the cars went past the scene of Vettel and Kubica's accident, Trulli hit debris and went off track, leaving Hamilton no real option but to pass him. Once Trulli was back on track, Hamilton, as instructed by his team over the radio (which is now publically available I believe), slowed to let Trulli back past, meaning positions were as they were when the safety car came out. Now, unless I'm missing something here, I can't see how anyone, from Mclaren or Toyota, has in any way lied or cheated here...
