Anant, if Lewis says that his fans have inspired him to stay in F1, why should you doubt it? I believe him. At events like Brooklands, his whole purpose is to meet his fans and thrill them on the track. He really seemed to get a lot from making them happy - I know, I was there. And you criticise him for smiling too much. That is just beyond belief. He is a warm sunny guy, which you obviously are not. That's why he has hundreds of thousands of fans and you are sitting at your computer being spiteful about Lewis Hamilton.

That's why I'll be a Lewis fan until I die. He gives so much to his fans (I've met him twice - will NEVER forget it). He is just awesome. We love you Lewis!

Anant, this article is as a result of an interview with him by the BBC as part of yesterdays coverage of the race. What was he supposed to do? Sit there and refuse to answer the questions? Imagine the reaction of people like you if he had done. The guy cannot win so go and find some other issue to complain about!!!

Adie - sorry but I don't want him to stay silent, but I just find his response about his fans making him stay back slightly superficial. A bit like his ever-present smile.

He is an awesome and spectacular driver, no mistake. But methinks he talketh just a bit too much and slightly immature.

Lewis doing the interview with BBC, was exactly the same as his emotional press conference in Malaysia,
i.e. Damage Limitation.
If something good is to come out of this mess,it might be a character building exercise for Lewis, something he is sadly lacking.
For all the woes that Button and the Brackley crew
endured over the last couple of years, even down to redundancy, They kept plugging on, and came good in the end. The Hamiltons please take note.

Button is a real trouper to keep plugging on while being paid millions of pounds for trundling around at the back of the grid and not making any effort in a poor car, unlike what Lewis can do with his car with no downforce.

It was a normal reaction to contemplate quitting.he is still and emotional and has seen so much critcism from the media, from other drivers...etc.it seemed the whole f1 universe( incl.the FIA) was up against him to get him .what would you done if you'd been in his shoes? whatever reason talked out him out of it ,the kid loves racing ,loves to entertain his fans with his risky aggressive style and we all love this kind of stuff in F1.Period.
