Anant, if Lewis says that his fans have inspired him to stay in F1, why should you doubt it? I believe him. At events like Brooklands, his whole purpose is to meet his fans and thrill them on the track. He really seemed to get a lot from making them happy - I know, I was there. And you criticise him for smiling too much. That is just beyond belief. He is a warm sunny guy, which you obviously are not. That's why he has hundreds of thousands of fans and you are sitting at your computer being spiteful about Lewis Hamilton.

You guys seem to have a lot of pent-up anger that you use this place as a means to vent, Gawd help your partners and other family members on a sunday afternoon if you are wound this tight when watching GP's. On the other hand it might make a good reality TV show such as 'Webcam on Sunny', or we could have Sunny or one of you other poor souls on the 'red button' (UK only...), could be more entertaining than the race! Grow up kids, and enjoy this wonderful sport.

Lewis, hang around with Jensen Button and learn from him. He has the talent, modesty and strong mental character which has kept him going through tough times. Just because you have a raw talent second to none at the moment does not mean everyone will like you and knockers will do their best to take you down.
You are young and have many more knocks to come.

Piercarlogassolini:

Well said, I said a while back the forums sometimes resembled the mindless name calling you see on footie forums....you expect that from football fans but not motorsport fans.

I guess that's the whole Hamilton thing, people love him or hate him, the whole hamilton thing brought in a lot of new people to following F1.

If he got a decent manager I think he'd get on a lot better. He'll win some races this year, think the WDC is a long shot but lets wait and see.

It's a great season tho so sit back and enjoy it.

My opinion of LH is that he is still very immature emotionally. The reasons for this are his co****ing from the real world by his father since an early age and the deal with McLaren. Sure, he has had to work hard and win to continue to get the support, but he hasn't had to rough it with the more normal young driver to get sponsorship etc. He has been allowed to concentrate on racing and just get on with it. He has a huge reliance on those above him who he feels have the years of experience and to whom he should listen, RD being one of these people. He has learnt his lessons and will continue to do so as he matures, but I believe that he should find someone else to manage him.

Of course he is not mature emotionally. How the h*ll would he mature emotionally when he is a child star? The man is only 23 years old. Were you mature emotionally at 23?

As I recall, many F1 champions have had personality issues...

Hes world champion, earns £15 million a year and races for Mclaren in formula one and he considers quitting because he gets some negative press in the media. Most people who love motorsport would give there right arm to be in his position, the ungrateful whining spoilt brat needs to try living in the real world find out what real problems are. Its part of any sport you will get bad press and people will hate on you. He to use to the british media kissing his back side and comparing him to likes of Senna, Clarke and Jesus. No doubt he is one the best on the grid with Alonso but hate his attitude.

side note: This forum is a much more polite place that many other online sport forums, and I'm glad for that.

As for LH being a spoilt brat - we don't know all of what went on, and continues to go on, inside the MM team. It could be that the shock of revelation in the Trulli affair finally struck Lewis. "I don't want to be part of this dishonest team any longer."
Or maybe it was an immature emotional spasm. or something else. Surely there are all sorts of other palace intrigues we know nothing about. The point: The press have half the story, at best. We will never really know. In any case, criticizing LH's public fretting seems unfair. Criticize his actions, not his words.

About the driver needing a new manager, this time both he and his manager have sought and acquired the managment/guidelines of MM,and not of RD.
