Why does it come as no suprise to see that BE is looking to get his mits on the Donington lease so he can award himself the GP, shouldn't someone somewhere be calling for a enquiry into this apparent conflict of interests.

F1 » British Grand Prix saved?

The British Grand Prix could yet be saved from extinction by F1 ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone, it is understood - and it would still be held at Donington Park too, only without Simon Gillett...

I don't have many mates in high place (or at all fo that matter) but I do have one at EMDA, and he tells me that suddenly every other meeting in everyone's calendar is about Donington Park....

Maybe Bernie's just scoring points - so when Ronnie Biggs comes out, and blows his cover, he'll have enough favours to call in - from powerful mates in very high places?

Well it looks like the dwarf has got what he always wanted then
Lets just hope he can keep dogs and other animals off the circuit better than at the other venue he runs a race at

This government knows no boundaries when it comes to courting popularity. Silverstone is a great race track and whilst the facilities aren't perfect, they aren't bad (not as bad as Brazil). Now we have scarce resources (the Development Agencies are taxpayer funded) being put into Donington. They should be ashamed.

If it is true that public money has been handed over to that money-grabbing power-grabbing man, who works only in his own interest, not in the interest of the sport or even in the interest of Britain, then I'll be even more disgusted with the government than I am already.

I wonder if after the first race and the Donington Park with the inevitable traffic chaos he will threaten for him to loose his own race! Think back to Silverstone with the rain, not sure what year it was.
