I only reason I can think of why Pro-drive have been sidelined again is because Bernie and Max are afraid of Richards. Period.

F1 » Prodrive, Lola, Lotus expecting further 'twists and turns'

David Richards has expressed his disappointment at Prodrive/Aston Martin having been omitted from the 2010 F1 entry list - but he suggests that nothing is set in stone just yet...

It always amazes me that there are two Brits in charge of F1, yet they are overwhelmingly biased against the UK. The midget aganst the British GP and Mad MAx against everybody and anything. If Lola and Prodive, two of the most recognizable names in motorsport, had registered their teams in Asia or the Middle East they would have been a shoe in. Instead we will get teams that are cosy with the tweedle dee and tweedle dumb, but offer no real challenge or heritage.
I support the teams breaking away, at least then the two barriers to competition and moving the sport forward would be removed!

Can't believe the didn't let prodrive in, by far one of the more credible entries.

Guess max is smarting because they pulled out after been allowed on the grid because of the custom car row.

F1 will (if it hasn't already) lose major credibility over this mess, it's an embarrassment.

I'd like to know what the criteria was to chose which team would be allowed and which wouldn't...
I know it probably would be too expensive but I'd love to see all teams accepted and go back to the days of pre-quali... was great!
There then would be a period of natural selection of who would stay or leave...

I think Mad Max has serioulsy lost it now. It's absolutely insane that he is still in charge of the FIA. Manor Motorsport? Do they even have enough funds to run in GP2?

I bet that once again, the decision against Prodrive has more to do with some personal vendetta against Richards than anything else. Anyway, he probably chose people he knows will back him and therefore strenghten his position. Richards wouldn't necessarily be that guy I think.

Also, entering Ferrari and the Red Bull teams unconditionally after all this mess...desperation or provocation?

Think Prodrive not getting a slot comes down to 2 things.

the fact that Richards is smarter than Max and is outspoken enough to tell Max when he's being an idiot.

And they wouldnt be using Max's cosy partnership with Cosworth for their engines...all 3 new teams are going to be using them are they not?

I dont care much about prodrive tbh, but I'm quite surprised that Lola wasnt given a spot, surely they have the technical expertise to manufactor a formula one car. Instead they give the spot to a team which isnt even going to manufactor their car themselves, but are leaving it to Dallara!

CAn anyone tell why they have chosen to limit the field to 26 cars? Is it a matter of garage space that keeps 2 or 3 other teams from also joining?
