Good-bye Bernie, Good-bye Max. I believe FOTA wil give us something special to watch, and I particularly don't mind if they splash money on better machinery. It would be good to see 900 plus HP cars again. I think FOTA will do something special for the new era of F1, though it may take a few years.I'm sure this site will hear from all the Ferrari haters but please try and remember the teams are all in this together. I believe Bernie is bitch slapping Max around in a motor home at the moment. It was only a matter of time before everything caught up with them. Hmmm...greed and dictatorship, deffinately a losing combo...the Lawman :) :)

Now with their own rules, hopefully they can bring back last years car design along with the V12. The 2009 cars look hideous.

It would be interesting if FOTA could work with Indycar to come up with similar specifications so that there could be some crossover between the two series. It seems like a good time for both of them to make changes to the current specifications.

A model for this exists: CART and Indy car in the US, both not doing well

I think the circuits will have a major role in this. After years of being pushed around by Bernie and Max, this should be interesting. People do care which venues will host the races. Tracks like Monza, Silverstone, Spa, and of course Monaco have their own "fans" and people care deeply whether a series that claims to be a Grand Prix is being held at a facility with pedigree. If FOTA thinks they are going to lay claim to the top spot in racing on the basis of their stars and their cars they are very wrong.

reminds me of a bunch kids squabbling in a playground,we just want to see some awesome wheel to wheel racing, having read the majority of comments on here it seems most people agree on one thing, max and bernie have done well, very well out of F1 and now......... well time for something different, link this with the donnington park fiasco you have to wonder at their buisness credentials, they seem to be ruining the sport, if we lose the british grand prix and all 8 teams to a break away series, they should both be sacked. im going to silverstone this sunday, to watch sport not politics. :?

We are dealing with two different business models, and the success or failure of the respective series will depend on the assets of the business and the way in which assets are deployed.

MadMax and GreedyBernie have just lost their assets. All they have is a name and contracts with various circuits. No-one just goes to a circuit. They go there to watch racing. We, the fans will come in droves to watch exciting, entertaining racing that represents the pinnacle of motor racing (note the success of 20-20 cricket)

Has anyone considered what engines Williams and ForceIndia will race with next year? Will F1 end up with a grid fitted with the same Cosworth engine.

Compare this with FOTA series

As one of the few americans that follow F1, I find we have little to no say in the sport. It would be great to have a american team in the sport. But in the sport I grow-up with.F1 has change to the point of doom and gloom. Sorry, but the money is part of the power. Being able to push the sport passed all others. There is no thrill left in motorsports when there is no room for growth. I will enjoy watching raceing that is no longer boxed in. I feel sorry for those people who think That this is all about one teams push for power, and not the drivers working to better the sport.
