Good-bye Bernie, Good-bye Max. I believe FOTA wil give us something special to watch, and I particularly don't mind if they splash money on better machinery. It would be good to see 900 plus HP cars again. I think FOTA will do something special for the new era of F1, though it may take a few years.I'm sure this site will hear from all the Ferrari haters but please try and remember the teams are all in this together. I believe Bernie is bitch slapping Max around in a motor home at the moment. It was only a matter of time before everything caught up with them. Hmmm...greed and dictatorship, deffinately a losing combo...the Lawman :) :)

@ Footari

"Did noboddy learn from CART and IRL? The fanbase will be split, someone will come off worse, and overall both series will be a shadow of what F1 once was."

Exactly mate. It will be ok as long as everything goes in the same basket. If the Monaco GP and Ferrari are on opposite sides, we'll end up with two series trying to score points off each other - scheduling races on the same weekend for example.

As a race circuit, marketing guru, television channel... Which do you buy? I would not pay huge premiums for a 10 year contract in the knowledge that either series may suddenly become "the chosen one".

F1 is dead, long live FOTA F1

At last some have had the nerve to stand up to Max the Perv, Bernie and the FIA. Fota F1 run for the teams followers and fan is long over due.
There has never been a shortage of money for the teams to operate on, the problem is that Bernie has had the bulk of the billions of $'s and Max has had his share too.

Face value you might think .. OH MY GOD! However this is brilliant news! Silverstone will be back on the calendar for one! There do need to be cost cutting measures but from both sides not just the teams. F1 is far to expensive to go and see live, over £100 to see the British GP! I am going this year but only because I habe very nice friends and family who are treating me :). FOTA seem to be all for the fans. Bernie and Max have slowly killed F1 for the fans. You can't run a Top flight team on £40 million, not when Ronaldo was solf for £80 million!
RIP F1, long live FOTA!!!

SHOCKED - didnt think it would get this far..hopefully its just FOTA flexing the muscles to get Bernie and the FIA to fire Max and when it happens they will back off and this breakaway idea will vanish. F1 has to do all it can to fix this immediately and listening to what the teams want and Max's removal is paramount.

If it comes to fruition then so be it and i'm sure FOTAs championship will be the superior series...just sorry if it happens Williams wont be there

F1 has been and will be the most expensive sport in the world. F1 is NOT Bernie. Its a team sport be it the drivers, manufacturers or the governors. FOTA did the best to make the old man understand this... but the old man does not get at all.

Well-done FOTA. We will be with you always. BRILLIANT !
ps. I guess Williams and Force India will have to find engine suppliers now. May be TATA can give a few. :)

This is brilliant news and is long overdue.

A break away series will be difficult, but not impossible to organise.

They say they will listen to fans - This will be a first.

I thought I would pop down to Silverstone today (Friday) only to be told there are limited tickets on the gate and they start from £70! It just reminded me why I stopped going to F1 years ago to replace it with MotoGP (a three day ticket costs £50). I went to the Friday F1 session last year and there were not many people there?

Max "the nits" Mosley and Bernie Ecclescake are money grabbing bas**rds.

I'm surprized that FOTA supporters are confidently counting chickens before they hatch. I can't see racing teams organizing big time racing against each other when they all badly need to win the championship.
