Good-bye Bernie, Good-bye Max. I believe FOTA wil give us something special to watch, and I particularly don't mind if they splash money on better machinery. It would be good to see 900 plus HP cars again. I think FOTA will do something special for the new era of F1, though it may take a few years.I'm sure this site will hear from all the Ferrari haters but please try and remember the teams are all in this together. I believe Bernie is bitch slapping Max around in a motor home at the moment. It was only a matter of time before everything caught up with them. Hmmm...greed and dictatorship, deffinately a losing combo...the Lawman :) :)

Johnson fools are plenty... you must have notice few that are still supporting Mosley .... I was glued to the TV screen listening to the same bile. It is unbelievable that in today's world we have some colonial-minded journalists and experts that think only nationals of one country are capable of running the show. Obviously they are oblivious that the world changed... how sad. Are the banners ready for Sunday?

What makes you think ferrari will turn on red bull?
Thats pure speculation that you are basing an argument on. Prodrive will be invited to join and Mclaren will help with the technical side, you heard it here first!
Not because Iam a sage, but beacause it was due to happen last year until FIA blocked them.
How will that be different to the red bull scenario?
Ferrari understand this better than you or I, and will not be cutting their noses off just yet!

@ MOB Rules

Im reliably informed that banners are being made for saturday qualifying(im not there on saturday) and More for the main event.

As for the broadcast, i couldnt believe my ears.
A force india employee(signed up for next year) was defending FIA and criticising the manufacturers.
The idiot probably doesnt even know that there is a Mercedes V10 in the back of their car or a gaggle of Mclaren engineers helping them!
And he wants a return to the "indie" days hahahaha
Pass me a GUN!

Yup, fair point. It was not a good argument. You were speculating too mind. Mini?

I really hope this breakaway series works, that the FIA scrap the Williams, Force India series, sack meddling Mosely, jump into bed with the manufacturers and drag the Monaco GP and Williams with them (probably after a lawsuit).

I believe however, we will have two series battling it out. One strong one that eventually collapses like CART, and one poor one that has history like IRL (in the form of Indy in that case). The fans lose and series take money off each other.

I'm intrigued as to why you think the DTM is a good example of a manufacturer led series. Should F1 be like that?

It was only a few weeks ago that we were reading that FOM is a surprisingly small organisation making a surprisingly large amount of money. I'm sure that the various global companies like Red Bull, BMW, Renault, Toyota etc will have very little trouble seconding highly qualified marketing staff to FOTA to set up the commercial infrastructure required.

I also expect that there are meetings going on right now at ProDrive and Lola, discussing if they should side with FOTA on a breakaway series. Even if the FOTA series never materialises, it will be difficult for the FIA to keep them out of F1 in future if they've been allied with a powerful FOTA.

how come people don't really seem to see the issue here? Half of each is nowhere near a full single series. 60 years of history and investment are burning all around us. And I'm sorry, anyone who thinks there is a good guy here is grandly mistaken.

FOTA - Do you really thing that they are out for anyone but themselves? Team squabbling has ALWAYS been a problem, and now they're in charge!? Christ I despair.

FIA - You're all out of touch. You need to do some listening to fans, teams, everybody. Well done all of you. You've achieved something colossal, I hope you're all proud with your names in the history books.

FOTA are a joke. Their website still claims: "FOTA has the objective to promote the development of Formula One and enhance its worldwide image and reputation"

Well let me tell them that F1 is dead..... didn't they realise that yet when they (their webmaster) posted their press release on their website this morning?

And... they are still listing Williams and Force India as members on the left hand banner on the home page.

FOTA couldn't organise the inside of a carrier bag....

Beacause the rules are laid out in black and white, and are not changed every year by meddling hierarchy.
The manufacturers can invest a huge sum in the first year granted, but by season 2 they are merely tweaking to get the advantage. Not re-inventing the wheel which happens in F1. Also the brands associted with it eg Merc and Audi, are attainable brands that people can buy, Merc vs Audi is pretty big in europe perhaps not in uk. Its close racing, big accidents, cheap tickets, drivers who really cant drive(LAUDA)Big characters and fan friendly environment are what make it great.cont....

News now that Bernie is being called on to Broker a deal.
The easiest thing to sort out the best deal for all is to get rid of Max. Remove max and 99% of the problems in Motorsport will go away.
Bye bye Max. You're long overdue your use by date!
