This is the best news for all the fans of technical innovation and real wheel to wheel racing AND best of all I am sure we will have a race in Britain at a price that everyone can afford. Good Luck FOTA.

Brilliant news. For too long, the FIA and Commercial Rights Holder, Max & Bernie, have been slowly destroying the sport so many of us love, constantly stiffling progress and taking the money away from the teams. All strength to the new Series. :) :)

At last, they've had the balls to stand up against Max and Bernie, this will be a much better and stronger championship than anything Bernie can muster, he may have the name F1 but he'll have precious little else.

I can't wait.

Good Stuff, Its good to see that the teams have the bottle to stand up against the FIA, It seems that the FIA have lost sight and have two world championships destroying themselves in F1 and the WTCC.

I propose that the new championship be called "Formula Ultimate" or "FU" for short.

This is brilliant news and is long overdue.

A break away series will be difficult, but not impossible to organise.

They say they will listen to fans - This will be a first.

I thought I would pop down to Silverstone today (Friday) only to be told there are limited tickets on the gate and they start from £70! It just reminded me why I stopped going to F1 years ago to replace it with MotoGP (a three day tickets costs £50. I went on the Friday session last year and there were not many people at F1?!?!?

Max "the nits" Mosley and Bernie Ecclescake are money grabbing bas**rds.

i hope they can organise the whole season very quickly. Not only do they have to find funding to set this new breakaway series up, they will have to organise what tracks they visit along the way. are they going to keep it worldwide? will they use the same tracks as the current formula 1 calendar? i think we need to see the details of what they are proposing before we get too excited about it. I am however, very pleased to hear they are basing it on the fans as f1 has for too long been driven by the greed.
