Itinerary for FIA Wednesday meeting:

1)Dispose of Mosley.
2)Appoint Ron Dennis to the post - he has the integrity, is fiercly impartial, and, best of all - would be the BIGGEST slap in the face to Mosley.

F1 » Briatore warns Mosley against getting 'personal'

Flavio Briatore has advised FIA President Max Mosley that he would do well not to make the FIA/FOTA war 'personal' - as John Howett admits just days remain to prevent F1 from rupturing.

What hypocrisy! If Briatore's (completely unprovoked) attack on Button and Barrichello a few weeks back wasn't personal, what is?

When you run out of reasoned arguments, you get personal. If that doesn't work, you get physical. Hey, doesn't MM like that sort of thing?

We all know Briatore is a fool but when it comes to Mosley opening his big mouth like that (or indeed with his comments about Jackie Stewart) as the supposed head of the professional governing body of F1 he needs to be reigned in or even charged with bringing the sport into disrepute. Either way he should no longer hold his position within the FIA, or even be part of the organisation in any way.

@Eagle - Apples and oranges. Briatore does not have to negotiate a working relationship with Jenson or Rubens.

All the blind hatred for Max and Bernie (much deserved) is clouding people to the fact that this meglomaniac named Flavio Briatore will be the guy doing Bernie's job in the new series. Do you really think anything will change? Welcome the new boss, same as the old boss.

How about Sir Jackie Stewart of Sir Stirling Moss to replace Mr Mosley?

The FOTA teams have denied that replacing Mosley is a requirement for agreement. Yet it seems so obvious to everyone else that he has to go. They want it to NOT be personal, and to stick to the business issues. The problem is, Mosley has proven that he cannot effectively manage the situation.

There are a bunch of challenges ahead for F1. Not only is Mosley not the guy to help solve them, he is the one who created the problems in the first place. The conclusion that he has to go is obvious. Nothing personal.

not sure about the throwing the sport into disrepute on mosleys behalf but im sure a picky sport like this would use defamation of character in a few cases here. I think all these big jobbies should learn that it could lose them a lot of money to be bickering in public like this. Yet another season of uncertainty for us F1 fans.

Flavio just wants to fight fire with fire, and that's fine.

But to say "I'm not going to say what Max is, because we've already seen a demonstration of it in the NOTW" (I paraphrase the quote here) is actually saying precisely what Max Mosley "is". It's a clearly personal attack, in defence against another one - sure - but it IS still a very personal attack.

Don't get me wrong, I side with FOTA in all this --- but if Flavio thinks people don't see through that ridiculous "holier than thou" claim, surely he's mistaken?
