This could not have ended on a worse note.

This idiotic soap opera, and the results thereof, will have no impact on either the fans or the insistence on sterile McTilke tracks. Any hope of cheaper tickets, or anything else that makes F1 more accesible, is gone.

We, as fans, lost here.

There are too many uncertainties about this deal. So far everything that has been said about it comes only from Max and nothing has been said by FOTA. It could be that FOTA are hiding under a rock because if this deal is true then they've sold out the fans. The deal so far does nothing to stop Bernie's pilliaging of the sport or bring races back to where the fans want them and not where Bernie can get the most money from. If this deal is true than FOTA have a lot to answer for.

all i'll say is don't count your chickens until there hatched.
ther's still a long time for spanky max to change his mind things can change very quickly in f1 and if max decides to stand for re-election in october it will be to late for fota to create a breakaway series for 2010.
i still don't trust the cunning old fox.

This is surreal! does anyone think Mosley's word is worth anything. What's to stop him form running again and after distributing the 100mil to the members of course they'll vote him back in. And he'll have the last laugh.

Of course Bernie is happy, the money is still streaming into his pockets. And now that Max wont have the spotlight on him, its back to the basement for some catch-up...."Yes I've been a bad boy and please lovely, check my hair for lice." :) :) :p...the Lawman

@ Johnson,

I was just suprised to see anyone actually think there is going to be a specific figure involved after all that has gone before and FOTAs proposals never putting numbers on aero devel, only on engine, gearbox and kers packages (which was broadly in line with the FIA in the first place).

oh, come on johnson, i backed you before, but PLEASE, why now put the blame on ferrari!. luca was the FOTA spokesman, and there was no way that he was going to back down. lets be glad that max is going and that formula 1, under whatever guise, is united again.

Which is why Im dubious to fair proposals being reached.

From what i understand it was Luca, Max and Bernie at the table. They resolved it between them. What concessions(and there will be some) did they give Ferrari and will we know about it? Smacks of the old boys club yet again, but as we all know its Ferrair who hold the aces

There is of course one small problem. Some teams have signed up under the terms of a 40 million budget cap and they were also promised more laxed rules. Who is going to pay these teams off? If they were smart they would file a lawsuit as if 2010 is under the current rules and they don't get any of the promised breaks they will be back markers for the safety car.

I'm not sure this is over yet. Only 1 side has spoken and his words tend to be worth little.
