This could not have ended on a worse note.

This idiotic soap opera, and the results thereof, will have no impact on either the fans or the insistence on sterile McTilke tracks. Any hope of cheaper tickets, or anything else that makes F1 more accesible, is gone.

We, as fans, lost here.

No one can deny F1 is favoured towards ferrari.
Their veto on the council proves it.

thanks for the web-site Al.

just checked and still no official press release from FOTA.

makes you wonder just WHAT has been agreed.

i'm with you Yarmin, the 2010 regs have already been published so where do the new teams operating under the published cap rules stand now?

do you get the feeling this is going to go on for a while yet?

OK.. bets on the 13 teams now including Lola, Aston and USGP along with the current 10.

The previous list was only provisional, was it not ?

on second thoughts, bollox to the 13 team limit, just let as many in as want to compete and have some proper qualifing, the old 107% rule and top 26 to race.

I think many of you are just resorting to cheap, easy jibes against two people who have done a lot for F1.

Bernie took F1 by the scruff of the neck and has made it THE global sporting brand (you clearly don't remember the ****e TV coverage we had back in the 70's/early 80's for instance). And calling him a dwarf is a) incorrect and b) just the sort of thing he' like, it would say to him that you had nothing rational to argue with.

And as for Max, y'all obviusly don't remember Jean-Marie Balestre....

FOTA head Montezemolo, who had been due to chair a meeting in Bologna on Thursday to discuss plans for a breakaway, was pleased that this year's rules will continue next season.

"I think the decisions we have shared this morning are important. We will have the rules of 2009, same rules for everybody. It means that we have stability," he said.

Some people have managed to come out of this with some dignity no matter what side of the "split" they were on, either by what they said or in some cases by being very obviously silent.

Sir Frank and Patrick Head, Ross Brawn, Christian Horner, Domenicali, to name a few. Unfortunately many others at the top of F1 showed themselves upin a very poor light indeed.

One is leaving but there are many still there, and I think that Bernie actually really enjoyed it!

Max

Aren't you glad that I persuaded you to threaten to restand, that stirred up the FOTA muppets.

I get to keep the revenue, you get to retire as planned and you still get your share as long as this holds together

if that report is true Taz then so much for the new teams joining next season.

these teams have budgeted on $40M or so and "relaxed" regs to give them a chance of being competitive.

If the current regs are carried over to 2010 what chance do these new teams have?

It's alright the existing teams talking about setting "targets" in cost reduction, but the problem with targets is nothing happens if you miss them and you don't have to aim for them in the first place.
