This could not have ended on a worse note.

This idiotic soap opera, and the results thereof, will have no impact on either the fans or the insistence on sterile McTilke tracks. Any hope of cheaper tickets, or anything else that makes F1 more accesible, is gone.

We, as fans, lost here.

2Pac:

It's on the reuters uk site.

You right tho, unless the big teams are going to give away very very cheap engines & gearboxes to the new teams how's it going to work, what about Cosworth etc, there's a lot still to come out in the wash.

This is at best a 25% solution to the F1 troubles assuming that Max doesn't change his story again. I will believe that M. le perv is gone when it is formally announced by the FIA. All the FIA toadies/Bernie/QVC are still in place. F1 needs an explicit list of FIA powers held by the body that do not include rule-making with the exception of clearly identified safety problems. Max the First's FIA courtiers need to depart as well. The problem of QVC and its stooge are still unresolved. So far as I can tell, the WMSC meeting has rearranged a few deck chairs on the Titanic. The FIA/QVC/Bernie iceberg is still out there. I'm withholding my glee until I see what FOTA has to say.

just saw MM press conference on SkyNews...

they have agreed to reduce costs to "early 90's levels within 2 years." what the hell does that mean? how are they going to ensure costs are reduced with no form of verification or governance?

sorry but this doesn't instil me with confidence for the future.

Why don't they ask the fans what the rules should be.

1st on I'd get rid of is the blue flags - let the drivers fight there way past backmarkers :)

Sorry, I dont trust Mosley one little bit. He has proven himself to be a less than honest individual. And the job is only half done,the power needs to be completely removed from Bernie also. We are all sick and tired of his threats, and his new circuits lack atmosphere and character. His financial demands from promoters needs to be addressed as we the fans lose all the best circuits to the oil rich states. Sorry, I'm not happy one little bit. FOTA have collapsed at the 11th hour once again when they were in a position to put the needs of the fans first and foremost. Guy's you had a golden opportunity, and now you will be dancing to Bernies tune once again.

The full entry list has been published on Autosport and more info.

There is a full FOTA statement tomorrow.

The big teams are going to give the three new entrants technical support....but they will all be running Cosworth units...how does that work ?????

@2Pac

I asked that exact question about "targets" last week... funnily enough no one seemed to want to answer... all too busy with the FIA is wrong FOTA is right arguments to actually look at something as simple as what FOTA were actually proposing and how it might actually work (or not as the case might be).

I suppose that now FOTA have got their way, people might have to start wondering just what the "target a 50% reduction" really means for the sport in the longer term (note people, I said sport, not commercial interests of any manufacturer backed teams).
