This could not have ended on a worse note.

This idiotic soap opera, and the results thereof, will have no impact on either the fans or the insistence on sterile McTilke tracks. Any hope of cheaper tickets, or anything else that makes F1 more accesible, is gone.

We, as fans, lost here.

Have to say it's a shame, F1 as it was wouldn't have survived without then 8 FOTA teams, you could argue a split wouldn't have worked either but even without Mosley, F1 is rotten to it's core with Bernie pulling the strings.

Hey ho.

Of course I'll believe MM, after Gordons 'truths' I'll believe anything.
An oportunity missed, I was so looking forward to the proper circuits again, I hope Fota have the breakaway series details on file.

Luca DM has come out and hailed Max's part in solving the issue. Obvioulsy that's PR speak but it's the first direct quote from a FOTA member saying that a deal has been reached.

Alos saying how F1 needs relaunched and not just protected.

FOTA have shown a strong stance which has unsettled the traditional seat of power. They never really wanted to leave the brand of F1 despite what they said but they have made good ground with the threat.

Happy days. A bigger and better F1 from now on. Just hope this is enough to let Donington get the funding for next year

Mosely should really just go now, because he still has four months to cause havoc.
I think Bernie may have pointed him in the right direction though following his 'I wont allow F1 to disintegrate' thoughts.

When FOTA announced the breakaway, BE got really scared and started to backtrack on Silverstone, saying that if Donington wasn't ready, the British GP could go back to Silverstone. I wonder what he'll say now?

Lets hope Fota gets tuff with Bernie. Now they know they can beat him. Make sure they get Silverstone back on the F1 calendar for good.

I hope Luca did all he tactically could by releasing a tentative calendar yesterday, which would have scared the **** out of Max and Bernie and they would have conceded defeat yesterday itself if asked. Today Luca would have gone to kick a wounded and broken Max. FIM has many sports, but why is FIM president always available at F1??? It is just because the name and fame they get. Without FOTA teams they would not have had any of it. So common sense prevailed. Also FIA(Max) would have noted that Bernie is much older now and wont be hanging around for another 25 years to build another F1 from scratch if all teams quit as a whole. So Max got his a** burnt and nose blooded in this fight.

@Al,

some posters are so busy slagging off various personalities i don't think they really look into what's being proposed and the effects it will have.

all i want is a sustainable F1 where there is close competition between all the teams and one team doesn't dominate because it has a budget 5 times as large as some other teams and where teams don't have to drop out of the championship because they can't afford to be competitive.
