The success of the RB5 is solely down to the work of Adrian Newey and his cohorts. It is coincidence that the results have come at the same time as Vettel joined the team. The work done by Mark and DC last year helped Adrian in the direction his design went in. Vettel should consider himself very lucky to have ended up in such an excellent position this year. I am lucky enough to know people who work in the team so my comments aren't based on armchair expertise

F1 » Webber: Button hard to beat, but I have same chance as Seb

Despite having taken his fourth podium in eight races in the British GP at Silverstone, Mark Webber admits Jenson Button is going to be hard to catch in the 2009 F1 World Championship - but he is adamant that his chance of doing so is every bit as equal as that of Red Bull Racing team-mate Sebastian Vettel.

Your deluded cobber! Vettel is in another class! So far vetel has two wins, Webber has none. Speaks for itself really. Also, look at where Red Bull were last year - nowhere. Vettel comes along and they're right at the pointy end. A lot of this must be down to Vettel and his quality as a development driver. Webber is just going to have to hope that his far superior team-mate brakesdown or crashes out sometime.

Webber. you sound like a little kid complaining to his parents. What about me? my results have been pretty good too daddy. Please try harder to stifle your obvious jealousy of the German kid during interviews, as you are coming off quite poorly to this average F1 fan. For lessons on correct/incorrect ways to give runner-up interviews, please see Moto GP stars Lorenzo (right way) and Stoner (wrong way). :-o

DC contribute to RBR success today?? LOL!! Joke of the day!! Seb also part of Red Bull's family and Adrian Newey' driver last year! And he was the only Newey's driver who won last year on the car designed by Newey. STR has made significant improvement in second part of last year season, when RBR with MW and DC on board got nothing but further back on the grid when Seb consistently put himself and his car in the top five. DC?? Come on ...

Andrewm, you couldnt be more worng if you tried! If Vettel is so much better than Webber, why has he only beaten Webber 3times out of 8 races?
Having a 4pt lead isnt really dominating.
go back to watching V8supercars....

You guys are retards. Seb was developing the STR for 09.. and look at what a bouquet of feces that has turned out to be. DC and Webber did the development for the RB5. I'm sure Seb was thinking he'd made the wrong move last year when he was in a Winning team, and was moving to a team that tanked in the 2nd half of the season. He played ZERO part in the dev of that car. He has been VERY lucky.

You Seb Vettle fans writing on these message boards must only be about 12 years old with all the crap you guys come up with! Im a huge Mark Webber fan but I also like Vettle and I think he's probery abit better than Mark but he is 10 years younger after all. But to say Mark is a **** driver and he's done nothing for RBR is not fair. I think they are the best driving combo on the grid this year why dont people talk about that instaed of rubbishing the drivers

Red Bull probably has got the best team mate battle on the grid right now and MW while not enjoying the experience of getting beat by his team mate, handled it better than SV did after Turkish GP, but I hope they go at it all season because JB knows that if he has a poor weekend then there is a chance that both Red Bulls could beat him, in contrast to Barrichello who manages to beat his team mate for the firs time this year and still finished behind the Red Bulls.
Nurburgring could again be a Red Bull circuit so the championship could tighten up even more in 2 weeks time!

Wow, I cant believe how many opinionated knobs there are here. Who's doing the whining? I cant recall Webber whining about Vettel or Button, sounded more like he was complementing their efforts. And in being 3.5 points away from Seb, he's making the point that things can change so easily. Webber, jealous? I don't see it. But realistic? Definately.

Typical whiners are the ones with the strongest negative opinions... and there appear to be no shortage of them here!

I agree that some of you "grown men" out there commenting are acting like children. Get over it! Red Bull are having their best year to date, have two excellent drivers (Yes, I am a Vettel fan and I am Australian so get over any notion of being biased). No team has as good a pair of drivers as these guys, they are pushing eachother every weekend and this is a good thing!!
To the point where a driver not winning being dissapointed when his team mate wins, well duh! That's not rocket science, it's the same for Barrichello too you numb skulls!
If you bother to read articles you see from Newey that this pair get along fine and are enjoying the battle against eachother on the track.
