Todt would be a disaster as FIA president.

It should be a joint presidency between Todt and Dennis.
Ferrari already have to much influence within the FIA, this will only put the balance further in their favour.

He was Ferrari's (most succesful)sporting director for 13 years after all. Does anyone else not see this conflict of interest?

Jean Todt would be the best guy for the job. He has years oof experiance of running teams in various series and best of all he is not a lawyer like Mosely.

Johnson - surely if Jean Todt is a conflict of interest, then so would Ron Dennis. Both teams have been close with the FIA in the past and both teams have been hugely successful.

Could be this a type of conspiracy between Luca Montezemolo and Jean Todt? :? Because it's rumored that Luca was the influential factor for Mosley expulsion.

and max will be p*****g his pants when the next controversial president picks up the reins only to carry on where he left off!!!

Now he can sit back with a bevy and giggle whilst watching the same old arguments over and over again. What has actually changed?? I hope im wrong, but it seems like nothing has changed and he will deliberately *recomend* someone he knows will cause more grief for the *loonies*

@ andrewm

Mclaren in favour with the FIA? 20 years ago...MAYBE.
I said a JOINT presidency between two of F1's power players.

They would cancel out the bias each has to their own team. Iam a Mercedes nut and i freely admit having Dennis on his own would also be a conflict of interest.

Hmm Any bets that Mosley will re-appear in the paddock as some form of Grandee linked to CVC/Ecclestone! Seems certain to me with Todt at the FIA.

Now if we can see this surely the teams can and are content with it? Otherwise Ferrari have pulled off a superb coup to their major benefit!

Over to Moto GP me for another Rossi/Lorenzo battle WITH OVERTAKING!!! :)

The last thing FIA and F1 needs is Jean Todt!

Another Ferrari puppet is not the way to lead Motorsport and F1.
The Ferrari bias at the FIA should be done away with ASAP as well. FIAsco should be completely overhauled and be run in an open and fair way.

I was not a Ferrari/Todt fan however I think if Todt was given the top F1 job his ambition would be to lift F1 without fear or favour and no doubt would do a very good job as he has done for his former employers.
