Todt would be a disaster as FIA president.

@Taz, I would agree with that. Personnally I would like to see Jean Todt at the top of the FIA. If it happens, great if not, no biggie.

The person at the top of the FIA has to have motorsport experiance to make it successful, not be a lawyer like MM is. The difficulty will be find someone who like F1 but does not really support any team.

@Johnson, if these did not contravene any regs, then why did they disappear? If you had read my comment properly, you would see that I wrote that neither Ferrari or McLaren are above reproach and that you can't sling mud at one and then cry when some of that mud sticks to your team. That is unfathomable!

So many Ferrariphobes in one place. Johnson I am disappointed with your rants about Ferrari. We all know they are there since the inception. We all know they were granted a veto on the rules. We all know they get more money than the rest. What is your point? Just sour grapes? All those allegations against Ferrari are all allegations and sour grapes from people that they cannot accept defeat mostly living still engrossed with their empire's glory in the past. Another thing that you and the rest of Ferrariphobes portray is that you will cheat and try your luck in any situation because if you are fearing that a Ferrari guy will do so you must only be looking in the mirror.

I love the irony of a Ferrari fan complaining about McLaren place swapping, that's funny. You don't have to be deluded to be a ferrari fan, but it helps. And why is it that whenever anyone says anything bad about ferrari, ferrari fans assume that they're a McLaren fan?
Ideally the new prez would be someone neutral. But then we don't live in an ideal world do we?

@Alec X, are you struggling to read today? If you would care to put down the anti-Ferrari banner to 5 mins and read my comment again, you would see that I said that neither Ferrari or McLaren are above reproach. I can accept that Ferrari have made some dodgy decisions in the past and yes I don't agree with them all. Both teams have bent to rules a fair bit to try to gain the upperhand. You cannot have a go at one but not the other. That is the point I am trying to get accross.

Reading just fine thank you. Why is it that Ferrari fans use McLaren as a way of justifying their own cheating? You can't justify Austria 02 by saying 'McLaren did it in Australia 98' for example. I'm not a McLaren fan, I think they're dishonest, but they are nowhere near Ferrari's level. There are numerous examples of rulings and decisions going ferrari's way over the last 10 years or so. Sometimes to the point of insanity (e.g. bourdais/massa crash last year.) F1 is biased towards Ferrari, Todt would make that worse. So say otherwise is deluded.

I read the comment, you used examples to justify your point. I overcame said points, you descend into personal slanging match.

The three pedals were legal because they were not electronic devices, they were mechanical torque steer devices. They complied with FIA regulations in much the same way the double diffuser does ie. nothing is in the rules to ban it, but it goes against sporting ethos.
Ferrari throw toys out the pram and WHAMMO we have a banned device. And im no Mclaren fan, Im a Mercedes-Benz fan

More money, more influence, more veto power and now potentially a Former employ as the head of the FIA.

This is not anti-ferrari. This is plain unfair.
I like to see ferrari do well especially in duels with other teams.
But, why should they enjoy preference over the rest?

@Johnson - LMFAO at you arguing over nothing really. Like I said, both teams have been dodgy in the past.
Look, I accept that Ferrari have not been the most honest of teams in the past. All I am asking is that others admit that their preferred team may not have been exactly honest before slinging muck. Johnson, why did McLaren get rid of their fancy toys if they were legal and such an advantage?

@(the real) Alec X - if you sign in, then it is obvious when someone else uses your name for their own twisted ends. That's what I did and no-one has used my name again (that I know of).
