I am starting to really like Luca, FOTA are coming up with the real goods regarding improving the sport, rather than the carnage of a grossly overinflated egotrip by a sick old pervert.

The way he is totally ignoring Mad Max it funny as hell, Go Luca !

FOTA's main objective is to make money then. Comforting.

Just hope they don't shorten the races

From FOTAs 2010 roadmap proposal.

Reduction of grand prix duration (250km or a maximum of one hour 40 minutes) pending the approval of the commercial rights holder

Currently it's around 300 to 310km and 2 hours max... with the exception of Monaco which is shorter anyway because it's such a slow track, but even that is 260km, so would have to drop to 200ish to fit the time limit.

Who the hell is this little jumped up Italian aristocrat telling the world how the F1 regulations will be framed.
Fota is not running F1 and never will.
All the manufacturer teams are trying to delude the world public, using the sensationalist motoring press hangers on, to justify spending fortunes taken from government bail outs of their respective gas guzzler manufacturing operations.
The fans may be gullible enough to fall for it, the world public are not.

If a general admission ticket to silverstone is £145 this year - justified by the teams as the cost of seeing the spectacle of the millions that they spend will the ticket prices reduce when they spend less?

When they are spending 1990's levels of money will we be offered tickets at 90's prices? FOTA's proposal was cutting the race length to save them money, would tickets be cheaper for us then to see shorter races??

FOTA are just trying to wrestle more money out of the sport - they can't get it from bernie of CVC so they want it from the fans by offering a cheaper/shorter spectacle for the same price.

"If a general admission ticket to silverstone is £145 this year - justified by the teams as the cost of seeing the spectacle of the millions that they spend"

The teams don't set ticket prices and they don't try to justify the ticket prices. Silverstone sets its ticket prices to try to cover the cost of staging an F1 event, and those costs are a result of Bernie/FOM/CVC asking for more and more from the circuits.

Why on earth do you use the name "Kyle Bush". Do you think you represent his opinion in any way? Do you think he feels flattered by fans sticking his name to their own opinions?

alan, fully agree. but one thing that has been overlooked in the "agreement" (if it happens!) is that fota have actually negotiated a bigger slice of the cake from little haystacks. but this may mean that he puts his "fees" up so as to retain the same excessive income for himself. you know what he is like where money is concerned!

Please, don't make the races shorter. Will be one more step to f1 be the same as GP2. The difference between drivers will be more difficult (If the tyres permit) and engines could burn the fuel that they want.
