Hes a nice bloke but I doubt if any F1 team boos would want him.

This Man just won't shut up, I don't know what has got into him, do he really think that he can come back and win? Even Lewis is in trouble on a Mclaren, and Lewis is a current WDC, And I don't think big teams will hire him like Ferrari, Mclaren, BMW or Toyota.. Brawn and Redbull will definitely pass on him, he's only option would be Force India and STR.. or some of the new teams. He will just make a fool out of himself when he returns.

Things weren't good for him at the end of his F1 career with his being totally outpaced by others around him - so why would he now feel able to perform at the top level again. He only won the Championship as he had the best car in 97, and he was never much of a force after that. Think he's dreamin g...

Villeneuve's style never suited grooved tyres, his championship year was the last one before grooved tyres were introduced and best car or not, he ran rings around his teammate then which is the clearest indicator. His loyalty to then BAR did his image damage but I would put money on Villeneuve against any driver on slicks. I would like to see him back at the paddock especially since he is outspoken and definitely not boring like all the rest of the current crop. I would love to see him finish his business.

Ummm everyone else adapted to slicks, if he didn't it shows an inability to make adapt to technical changes. He was nowhere at the end of his career and for most of it, he took the money and the BAR ride...strangely enough they moved forward when he left after him and Pollock had milked the team.

Lets bring back Hakkinen, he would run rings round Villeneuve....not to mention Schumacher.

I get the impresion that this is just JV jumping up and down saying "I'm still here. Please let me play." Can't really see the big teams giving him a shot, mabye one of the newer ones, as long as he doesn't bleed them dry by demanding a huge salary.

If he gets into a small team, I can't see him staying for too long though. He won't want to spend any more time at the back of the grid. JV in F1? In my opinion - not a snowballs.

Taz, you're right. The Hakkinen / Schumacher battles were immense. Schumacher is quoted as saying that Hakkinen is the only driver he ever feared. Some accolade eh?

Hakkinen is no slouch in a rally car either. Pity he's retired.

get him in at renault for a few races this year as a replacement for piquet

Keep pushing JV. Let's get you back in to remind F1 what it missed when you left. No point getting into the grooved tyre debate now but a few teams are seriously talking to him. Experience, speed and publicity....in for Nakajima would be good.
