Respect for Institutions is not cast in stone, those Institutions must earn and deserve that respect, anyone saying they will defend to the death their Institutions should perhaps be living in one!

F1 » 'Unless Mosley has gone mad, he won't back Todt'

Max Mosley would only back Jean Todt for FIA President if he 'has gone even more mad', argues Carlos Gracia - who suggests FOTA's 'lack of respect' may lead the Englishman to stand again.

Max should do the honorable thing and go without a fuss.
Does he not realise the damage he has done to the public perception of motorsport in general.

Since the beginning of the F1 season this year people have asked me what is going on & it's complete nonsense!

The FIA does nothing for "motoring".

I have lived my entire motoring life without a bit of assistance from the FIA.

They seem to be in the business of wasting oxygen the rest of us could use.

If you disagree with this statement, please provide facts as to what the FIA does to help "motoring".

Sorry Geno...
The FIA has, in collaboration with other associations done a lot for road safety in the world, introducing 'crash testing' and numerous road safety campaigns. Not sure what affect it has in the US but in Europe it has had a big affect on making road cars safer during accidents.
YES I know the manufacturers have had to build the things, but the FIA instigated the crash tests to improve the safety aspect.

Cont....From the Euro Ncap (European New Car Assessment Program)Website

In November of 1996, the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA), the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and International Testing were the first organisations to join the programme. This resulted in Euro NCAP being formed. Its inaugural meeting was held in December 1996.

Sorry Shirley,

The FIA are just a figure head for saftey, they should not be congratulated in advancing safety by any means other than publicity!

Mercedes-Benz for example have typified this by spending BILLIONs creating crumple-zones, airbags, three point seatbelts, ABS, traction control etc.

Things that never saw the light of day in F1 let alone FIA!
The FIA spout alot of noise to justify fat salaries, in the end it does no good and hard cold technology is what makes the difference!

Mercedes and other companies play along with "ncrap" because people, much like sheep, believe what they are told.
Mercedes A-class gets 5 stars in ncap test yet the M-Class gets 3?
I would rather the 2 tonne vehicle thanks

2 tonnes vs 1 tonne...... i dont care how good the 1 tonne vehicle is its gonna feel a 2 tonne impact!

And the manufacturers know that if there is a crash, and the occupants survive... you have a customer for life!

There is nobody available to replace Max Mosley at the FIA.
The post of President needs someone of huge intellect and strength of mind.
It is essential that he remains. The attempt by Ferrari to depose Max through

FOTA, is a smoke screen to continue the dominance of the manufacturer teams in

the face of sensible regulations to reduce the huge cost and introduce relevant

technology for the 21st century. Without this F1 cannot survive in the economic

crisis and environmental disaster soon to occur.
Teams like Ferrari cannot win without spending huge amounts of money from company

bail outs and they are determined to continue the use of 19th century ic engines

and dog boxes.
The naive fans may well support these criminal actions of Fota but the world

public sure as hell will not.

The vast Majority of the world realise that Max the Perv is not sane.
F1 and Fota are dominated by the FIA and Bernie Autogyro and have been for years. The only criminal action is the way Max and the FIAsco rule the teams and try and impose brain dead senseless rules and regulations.
If the FIAasco and Max and Bernie had run F1 fairly and the money genearated by F1 had ben distributed fairly there would never have been any worries about finances for teams and manufacturers. And the paying public would have got a better show and better value for money.

Why for God's sake can the fascist sympathiser not just bow out gracefully as he has already done sufficient damage to the sport and hopefully the power of MM can return to the sweet variety. :p :p :p :p :p
