Lewis was first last year in NOT the best car - look at his teammate back in 7th last year. And look at this year, with both the Brawns 1 and 2 - doesn't that er, like tell you something that they have the fastest cars followed by the Red Bulls. Last year, I'd say the Ferraris were the best cars, closely followed by the McLaren. Apart from his drive to the limit, adventurous, stupendous, daring style of driving, Lewis is also the nicest, most caring about his fans driver. That is why he has and always will have more fans than Button. True racing fans can see brilliance and ignore the media campaign against him and pro-bulbous Button.

im sorry but whoever thinks lewis hamilton has been the star of 2009 so far needs shooting.
id say he has shown his true colours though: not fast when he doesnt have the best equipment.
instead of thinking lewis hamilton is todays version of ayrton senna, please cast your mind back to the 2008 season. he had it all there for the taking and when the pressure got too much at the end of the season, he made some shocking mistakes. and lets not forget he only won that championship by the skin of his teeth.
he is obviously quick but not as quick as the likes of vettel, button, alonso, rosberg and potentially even sutil - and without question will never ever be comparable to senna!

@Fluffy - ask anyone at Silverstone? Oh yeah, that's not a biased opinion you'll get there. Face it, Hamilton won last year thanks to the fact he was the teams No. 1 driver, was in the best car and Ferrari f**ked up a few times. I think you need to extract yourself from Hamilton's bottom. Comments on here remind you of the BNP?! WTF!? Get your head out of the Daily Express for 2 mins please! Just 'cos someone doesn't like Hamilton does not automatically make them a racist. Just so you know, I am a white, born and bred Scotsman and guess what, I don't like Hamilton! Big Woop! I guess I should join the BNP by your reckoning as should everyone else who doesn't like him.

Just to scuttle all these conspiracy theorists...
1. McLaren, have never had a "number one" driver in the team, both are treated equal.

2. The FIA investigated Alonso's claims of favoritism towards Hamilton and found no evidence of any bias or different treatment within the team.

When Alonso was trailing Hamilton it was all down to big Ron's apparent bias, according to the conspiracy theorists. No he's ahead of Kovi and big Ron's not there anymore so now "the team" are favoring Hamilton, apparently!

Don't let facts get in the way guys!!!

Who the hell seriously thinks that Hamilton has been the best driver so far this season...he's been making rookie mistakes all over the show! (touching the grass at silverstone!)

I wouldn't worry Phill. I've seen a few idiotic comment by Fluffy. I think Fluffy is Hamilton.

2Pac--
You forget Alonso spanked Shooey for 2 years in equally good racing cars-that is fact. Alonso brought back the drama F1 deserves, not this follow the leader to the end crap. Did you see his pass in Japan? Wonderfull stuff.
Give the man his due as he, like Shooey, began in lesser performing cars and worked his way up. Button deserves his praise this year but is using superior equipment except for the Bull #1 team. I withhold judgement @ this point on the best driver and hope for the cars to catch up before the season is a total run-away.

So Johnson, Mclaren pay the two time world champ £20 miilion so they can make him No.2 to a new f1 driver. Then lewis is so powerfull he can order were abouts ron works in the company which he owns a 30-40 percent stake in. yes he is the no.1 driver at mclaren but i dont think that mclaren make one set of parts of lewis and a different set for Hakkie. Hakkie shows what the ture pace of the mclaren is. Lewis is always ringing the neck out of it. Lewis is always at the edge of what is possiable with the car.If lewis ever has the best car f1 would die so many people would say how boring f1 is and they would be right he would win 90% of the time.he has not got the backing his talent desevers
