I'd be about as happy to see Fuji go as I would that blowhard idiot Mosley. Fuji was one of the more boring tracks on the calendar. Bring back Suzuka!

F1 » Hockenheim to be saved but Fuji facing the chop in 2010?

The future appears a touch brighter for the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, but the 2010 Japanese GP scheduled to take place at Fuji Speedway looks to be on shaky ground indeed.

According to ITV, Turkey's neighbour Bulgaria is meeting Bernie at the next GP to discuss a Bulgarian GP from 2011 to 2015 with an option to extend it to 2020. As often happens when countries want to use F1 for national PR, they don't have a track yet and will build one. Surely it should be the other way around. Tracks are built. They build up a fanbase and have great races. And only then does F1 say they deserve to host a GP. But that doesn't earn enough sheckles for Bernie.

We lose venues like Silverstone, Suzuka and Montreal, circuits with unique challenges, because of Bernie's sheckles, and they get replaced with Tilkedoms.
How many variations can we get on how to join straits up! At least Sakhir is in the middle of the desert.

Don't think Fuji needs to worry, there will be room for them when Donnington falls over and Silverstone tells Bernie where to go.... Yeah alright! wishful thinking about the BRDC telling Bernie where to get off.... But I hope they charge him through the nose for using the track rather than the other way round.

Cant say I've enjoyed the newer Hockenheim...always enjoyed seeing the cars race through the woods on those 2 amazingly long sections. I can see why they changed things but it hasnt worked for me.

Fuji can wander off into the distance..as long as we get suzuka back on the calender

At the end of the day, BE doesn't care one jot for history. The track choices are down to who'll pay the fee he asks, nothing more.

Countries with no open wheel motorsport history just want to create a spectacle. Sure, you'll get people watching in the first year, but how many will come back year after year? And how many of these will not be ex-pats?

There's got to be a balance in circuit choice. Yes, BE needs to make money, but we also need the Spa's and Suzuka's.

ok i may get slated for this comment but i believe the gp's should be european venues at present all the teams are european (unless usf1 does compete in 2010) and as such the races should be in europe you dont see indy or nascar racing over here or another car series coming to the uk or europe.

Toyota although based in Cologne arent a European team...but I see where your coming from and I'm sure there would be a few people who would go along with your sentiments. Myself? I like the fact its a global sport - with the exception of N.America and Africa at the moment..I do think N.America should have at least 1 race, as long as its not Indy though!! It will be interesting to see if FOTA can force Bernie into getting a GP in N.America back on the calender...

The new Hockenheim was rubbish. How about returning the old Hockenheim circuit and get rid of Valencia, Singapore and Monaco. Silverstone is gone, so that's one less crap circuit. F1 should go back to Argentina and start at Laguna Seca. F1 cars on the Corkscrew would be immense.
